Very disappointed and deeply upset with this purchase.

What I purchased was advertised as a brand-new, professionally styled Belle Tress Dolce & Dolce 23. What arrived was absolutely not consistent with that description.

The wig arrived with what appeared to be someone else’s makeup on it, and it sheds so severely that I cannot comfortably wear it outside the house. It’s obvious the cap is severely stretched out. The shedding is so extensive around the temples that I cannot even style the wig away from my face or wear it in a pulled-back/off-the-face style without being concerned about the cap & wefts showing. This is not a minor issue—it significantly limits how I can actually wear the wig.

The styling was also nothing like what was represented in the listing. I have included screenshots comparing the listing to what I actually received. No where in the listing does it state this wig was used. I assure you it was heavily used. The only warning is about color variations.

This is especially concerning given the store’s strict “No Return” policy. When a wig is sold as brand new, the customer should be able to rely on that description. If this wig had been accurately represented as previously worn, heavily shed, and in its actual condition—with clear, close-up photographs of the problem areas—the price should have reflected that condition.

In fact, I could have purchased the same style on sale in a different color, in the fully hand-tied construction, for LESS than I paid for this wig.

I would have been willing to make an informed decision if the listing had been transparent. Had the condition been clearly disclosed, the problem areas photographed, and the price been around $150, I probably still would have considered purchasing it. That is how important transparency is to me.

Losing your hair is already an incredibly difficult experience for a woman. Customers purchasing wigs are often spending hard-earned money on something that can have a profound impact on their confidence and daily life. Taking advantage of that trust is especially disappointing.

I have a terminal medical condition and saved for weeks to purchase this wig. Receiving something in this condition after believing I was purchasing a brand-new, professionally styled wig was devastating.

There are reputable wig retailers who are transparent about whether a wig is new, worn, returned, or otherwise imperfect—and who price their inventory accordingly. That transparency matters. Return polices matter. The way vulnerable customers are treated matter.

I am shocked and livid over this experience, and I will not be purchasing from Shirley’s Wig Shoppe again.

Please do your research and carefully consider the condition of any wig you purchase before spending your hard-earned money here.💔😭
