Fibers are terrible, but easy to fix!!

I bought this on clearance and was super excited to get it! I put it on and immediately disliked the style on me, but knew I should give it a chance before I dismissed it as a mistake. I wore it for about 3-4 hours in my house & I noticed when I took it off how terrible the ends felt. Felt like I had worn it for days without taking any heat to it. Another thing I found is that this style is very dense. It starts out a light-light medium density on the cap and at about ear level it starts to get very dense, which when combined with the fraying ends makes this wig look terrible, cheap Temu quality!!
I did my best to heat style the fibers, but found without using direct 300 degree heat on them (a curling iron or hot comb) which compromises the curl pattern, the fibers would just go right back to looking crispy and frayed. So, to try getting this wig to look more natural and less dense, I decided to thin it out. That helped a lot, but still the fibers looked terrible. I then decided, as a last resort, to straighten it using a straightener at 280 degrees and re-do the curl pattern myself. Maybe it would not be the exact same curl pattern, but to get these fibers to look the way all my other gorgeous Belle Tress wigs look, I thought it necessary. After I straightened it, I felt it looked so good and so natural that I left it as it was. I didn't even bother with the curls again. Maybe I will in future, but for now I am living for this wig!!
I honestly do not know if the Maxwella 18" I received is a one off, but all my other Belle Tress wigs have great fibers on them. Just a little bit of heat maintenance after each wear and it is as good as new again!
